Changes to ALT News ALT News started life in 1993 as a quarterly printed newsletter, growing eventually into a 16 page publication. During 2005 we began to issue ALT News as a the web based
ALT Online Newsletter alongside a four-page printed edition containing short abstracts of the longer pieces in the online newsletter.
Earlier this year we decided to break the direct link between the print and online versions. From now on we will issue a simple two-sided printed
ALT Update to coincide roughly with the publication of the online newsletter. Editorial arrangements for the online newsletter will remain unchanged, whilst the quarterly update will be edited by our Publications Manager.
Previously, representatives of organisational and sponsoring members were sent set (and for many, excessive!) quantities of the printed ALT News whether they wanted them or not. Now you can tell us the quantity of the update that you require by email or using a simple fax-back form.
We’ll not necessarily get the change right first time, and if you have suggestions for improvements, write to the Publications Manager –
lucy.saxton@alt.ac.uk.
