The Government's Consultation on Legislation to Address Illicit P2P File-Sharing

Posted Friday, 4 September 2009, 17:49

One of ALT's key activities is producing responses to Government consultations. You can see a range of these at http://www.alt.ac.uk/documents.html.

We are intending to respond to the Government's Consultation on Legislation to Address Illicit P2P File-Sharing, which closes on 29 September.

http://www.berr.gov.uk/consultations/page51696.html has links to the original June 2009 consultation document, and to a recent "update" that proposes a stronger framework to control illicit file-sharing, up to an including the suspension of a repeat infringer's access to the Internet.

Participants in the ALT conference are well placed to contribute to our response, and if you have experience or know-how in this area, please comment below.
