About: Having graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a PhD in human degenerative disease, Mark currently works as a research scientist and educationalist. Until last year, Mark was a Senior Lecturer & University Teaching Fellow for the University of Westminster, where he specialised in large-group teaching, assessment & feedback and the student experience. He has led and worked on numerous educational and scientific grants, speaking at both national and international conferences. He has now been appointed by the University of Greenwich to lead on areas of professional development, online learning and curriculum design/enhancement as part of the newly formed Educational Development Unit. Mark also works as an educational consultant and is currently working with a private sector company to enhance their international Medical School programme.

With responsibilities at the Programme, School and University levels, Mark’s work is focused around the strategic and evidence-based use of technology enhanced learning and he is currently leading a JISC funded project on Digital Literacies that aims to transform the development of graduate attributes. His work is focused on promoting good practice, supporting the student/staff experience and realising opportunities to tackle head-on the challenges faced by the HE sector.
