About: My broad research interests focus on issues of teaching, learning, and knowing in various contexts. In particular, I'm very interested in how we teach and learn using various new technologies, and how those new technologies in turn influence our ways of thinking, knowing, and experiencing the world. The sorts of questions I ask are typically broad and exploratory, and thus are suited to qualitative methods of inquiry. Several of my recent studies have been centered in secondary schools and in higher education, attempting to explore how students and staff are engaging with and using ICTs on a day-to-day basis. Because of my background in the technology industry, and especially my experiences designing and managing e-learning, I'm particularly interested in issues around technology-mediated teaching and learning.
