How to register your blog and let ALT help you distribute it

Attending #altc2013 in person or as delegate for the live sessions? Would you like use to help distribute blog posts you write about the conference to a wider audience? If yes here’s how you can register your blog posts to appear in the Conference Reader, Daily Newsletter and also get a tweet out from @A_L_T. Here’s how:

Make sure you are logged in to the site, then click your profile name or use the My Profile from the menu

In your profile page click on ‘Profile’ and then ‘Edit’

Scroll down the settings and enter the homepage of your blog, then using the ‘click here’ button

From the Blog RSS field select the url with your RSS feed (this will usually contain either the words ‘feed’ or ‘rss’). If the need is not detected you can use ‘Other’ to manually enter it. If a feed is not detected and you don’t know what it is ask a friend for help.

Click ‘Save Changes’

Once you’ve registered your blog just include the text ‘altc2013′ in the post title and/or body and it will eventually appear in the Reader (this may take up to 30 minutes).

Once it’s in the Reader your post (with a direct link to it) will appear in the Daily Newsletter

and you’ll get a ‘tweet out’
