This statement details the collection and use of personal data by NewsWeaver under its contract with ALT.
-
The ALT Online Newsletter is an opt-in only publication.
- All subscriber data is stored in a highly secure facility and
NewsWeaver does not share subscriber information with third parties.
- When you sign up for the ALT Online Newsletter, Newsweaver
collects and saves your email address and newsletter format preference

issue of the ALT Online Newsletter in your preferred format.
-
If you wish to discontinue your subscription or to change your
format preference, you can do so through the subscription box present
on every copy of the newsletter.
- If you receive the html-formatted version of the newsletter, your
opening of the email containing the newsletter is notified to
NewsWeaver and saved. Your clicks on links in the newsletter and in the
companion website are also saved. These and the statistics generated
are used in aggregate form to give ALT an indication of the popularity
of the content and to help ALT to make decisions about future content
and formatting. This information is held by NewsWeaver and will only be
shared by NewsWeaver with ALT.
- Issues of the ALT Online Newsletter may contain a survey.
Participation in such surveys is voluntary. Individual responses are
saved and used to prevent multiple voting by any individual.

posted from web-forms. ALT reserves the right to analyse this
information from time to time.
- Information collected by NewsWeaver is stored in a secure and
private manner, with measures in place to protect against the loss,
misuse and alteration of the information under NewsWeaver's control.
-
Cookies. The NewsWeaver service uses cookies to authenticate the
user and keep track of the user session, and to govern survey voting.
NewsWeaver does not use cookies to collect any information about you.
All cookies, except those used for survey validation, expire within
several hours after a period of idle use.
